Howell, Michigan
The city of Howell and Howell Township are located in Livingston County just east of Fowlerville and west of Brighton. These communities are almost 40 square miles in total with a population of approximately 16,000 residents. It’s a little bit outside the Detroit area but this southeast Michigan community is less than an hour from the heart of the city. Howell is also about 35 minutes to both Ann Arbor to the south and Lansing to the west.
Howell is centered around where M-59 and I-96 intersect and is home to the locally famous Tanger Outlet Center which draws many folks from all around eager to check out the dozens of designer and brand name stores. Howell hosts many festivals throughout the year which also attracts a lot of residents from all over. Aside from their weekly farmers market they also host the Michigan Balloonfest which is an art fair, carnival and more surrounded by hot air balloons; they also have events surrounding Halloween and Christmas.
The charming downtown area of Howell offers many boutique shops, restaurants and entertainment options amid their historic buildings and homes. For those looking for a little more of a small-town vibe, Howell is the place to be.
