Brighton, Michigan
While quite a ways away from the city, Brighton is a metro Detroit suburb encompassing almost 35 square miles with a population of about 18,000 residents. Located on the eastern side of Livingston County, Brighton offers a lot to those who love spending time outdoors and boasts many great dining, shopping and entertainment features. The downtown Brighton area features over two dozen restaurants and bars, boutique and specialty stores and lots of family-friendly and community-oriented activities.
For the outdoor enthusiast they’ll have Mt. Brighton which is a golf course and ski/snowboard hill that’s been a staple to the community since 1960. There are 130 acres of land which include 25 trails and 5 lifts. There are also parks all around Brighton including Brighton Recreation Area, Huron Meadows Metropark, Island Lake State Recreation Area and Kensington Metropark. All within 10 minutes of Brighton, these parks provide thousands of acres of land with hiking and biking trails, horseback riding, playgrounds, water parks, lakes, ponds and so much more.
