Pontiac, Michigan
Pontiac is a metro Detroit suburb located north of Bloomfield Hills and east of Waterford. With its charming downtown area known for some great music clubs, restaurants and entertainment, a visit to Pontiac is a great way to spend the afternoon and evening. This city encompasses the 48340, 48341, 48342 and 48343 zip codes and is twenty square miles with a population of around 60,000 residents.
When the film industry came to town to shoot some movies, many chose Pontiac where the Motown Motion Pictures Studio is located. This studio along with many of the streets have been used in blockbuster films like “Black Sky,” “Red Dawn,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” and “Oz: The Great and Powerful.”
While Pontiac has had its issues in the past, things are improving quite a bit. Their downtown area is getting stronger and their city streets are much safer. Pontiac hosts many great festivals throughout the year and is a big hot spot for watching classic cars drive by during the Woodward Dream Cruise. Pontiac is definitely a city worth checking out.
