Ortonville, Michigan
Ortonville is a small community located in the northern section of Oakland County. But while small in population this area has a lot of features for those who want a truly rural feel while still being fairly close to the major suburbs of metro Detroit. Ortonville is situated west of Oxford and east of Holly. For those calling Ortonville their home, they live about 50 minutes from the heart of Detroit and just 20 minutes north of the shopping, dining, entertainment and business opportunities in Auburn Hills.
The historic area of Ortonville is a charming downtown district with seasonal festivals, boutique stores and restaurants bringing in visitors from all over and employing many of its residents. But just because it’s rich in history doesn’t mean Ortonville isn’t constantly improving with the times – they’ve recently added a skate park.
One of the great things about calling Ortonville home is its proximity to sprawling parks like Ortonville State Recreation Area and Holly Recreation Area featuring horseback riding, hiking and biking trails, campgrounds, swimming and more. For those who love spending time outdoors at these large parks Ortonville is a great place to be.
