You also need to make sure you have at least two receptacle circuits above your counter tops. These circuits are for plugging in things such as a microwave. There should be a dedicated 240 volt circuit for all electric ranges, ovens, and cooktops.

If you notice your kitchen is void of these features, call an electrician immediately to have things rewired. Doing so will make your home a lot safer and prevent power outages when multiple appliances are plugged in at the same time.
